Itinerary

06:00 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in central Bangkok.
Travel northwards to Khaoyai National Park, Thailand’s first UNESCO World Heritage natural site, known for its lush evergreen forest and diverse wildlife.

Morning Birding Session
Arrive at the park and stop at the Visitor Center. From here, we begin our birdwatching adventure. Possible highlights include:

  • Red-headed TrogonOrange-breasted Trogon

  • Red-breasted Parakeet

  • Dusky Broadbill/Long-tailed Broadbill

  • Blue Pitta

  • Blue-bearded Bee-eater

  • Greater Flameback

  • Slaty-backed Forktail

  • Banded Kingfisher

  • White-crested Laughingthrush

  • Blue-winged Leafbird

  • Common Green Magpie

  • Crested Serpent Eagle

and many more of Khaoyai’s forest birds.

We explore various birding hotspots such as the Park Headquarters area, Khao Kaew viewpoint, Haew Suwat waterfall, Nong Phak Chi grassland, and the southern trails. Short and easy walks through forest and grassland will also give us opportunities to spot Siamese  Fireback, Silver Pheasant.

Lunch – Enjoy a delicious Thai meal and refresh with coffee, tea, or soft drinks.

Afternoon Birding & Wildlife Viewing
Continue exploring different habitats in search of more species. Keep your eyes open for Laced Woodpecker and Heart-spotted Woodpecker – After a rewarding day of birding and wildlife viewing, drive back to Bangkok.
